Nuworks is a touring theatre from Australia who performed "A Midsummer night's dream" for us last year.  This time they return with a hard hitting production.

Slavery is a mostly factual historical account of what became known as The Zong Massacre, an infamous legal case that went to trial in London in 1783.

The owners of the slave trader ship Zong were accused of murdering 142 African slaves who were thrown overboard in order to gain the insurance money. The Magistrate reluctantly ruled in favour of the ship owners as the slaves were considered only as cargo, with the same legal status as horses.

The Possible Dreams Choir, from Swaziland, form a backdrop to the action of the drama and sing throughout the play.
